EBooks and Beyond:
What’s Going to Rock Your World Next?
If Google were an American human being, it wouldn’t be old enough to vote yet. But hang on to your hats, because the past is only the prologue for what’s coming. Just when you think you have your head around eBooks, downloadable audio and video, and cloud computing, along come nowcasting, Google Fiber, 3-D printing, big data, and…are we exhausted yet? How do libraries cope with the tsunami of tech that engulfs us and our users? George Needham will provide an informative and (hopefully) humorous look at some of the new possibilities coming to a PC—or, more likely, a tablet—near you. When you prepare and get ahead of the curve, “new possibilities” look more like opportunities and less like threats!
About George Needham
George Needham is Vice President for Global and Regional Councils at OCLC in Dublin, Ohio. George’s portfolio includes governance issues and the OCLC Library. From 2009 through 2012, he also had a private consulting practice, specializing in library strategy and sustainability.

He is a frequent speaker at library conferences and staff development days, and he’s served as a mentor at nine library leadership institutes.
